Fortnite runs with what's known as the "Unreal Engine" - a piece of software developed by Epic Games to provide 3D gaming functionality to other developers.
Whilst the Unreal Engine element of the likes of Fortnite is generally kept out of view of the end user, it's present and an essential part of the likes of Fortnite, PUBG and other leading games.
Unfortunately, it can be the case that the engine becomes damaged or corrupted, leading to strange errors - such as the "An Unreal Process Crashed: UE4-FortniteGame" error.
The cause of this error is down to the way in which Windows is unable to work with the UnrealEngine application, required by the likes of Fortnite to operate.
The problem is typically caused by issues with settings inside Windows (which can include the registry), or with integration problems with the likes of DirectX and other third party libraries.
To fix it, you need to first ensure that the Fortnite application is being operated correctly, and then that you're able to clean up any potentially damaged settings in the likes of the Windows registry or other third party libraries.
1. Change Compatibility Settings For Fortnite
The first step is to ensure that you have the correct "compatibility" settings for Fortnite.
This is a standard Windows process, which basically allows any version of Windows after 7 to run "older" software (designed for the likes of XP etc).
  • Press "Windows" + "E" keys on your keyboard
  • Browse to "C:/Program Files/Epic Games/Fortnite/FortniteGame/Binaries/Win64"
  • Scroll down to "FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe"
  • Right-click
  • Select "Properties"
  • From the top "tabs", select "Compatibility"
  • Scroll down and check "Disable OnScreen Optimizations"
  • Click OK
  • Repeat this for any of the "FortniteClient... " EXE files in the /Win64 folder
  • Try the game again
2. Use Fortnite "Verify" Trick
The next step is to try using the "verify" tool from within the Epic Games launcher.
To do this is actually very simple:
  • If you've exited the "File Explorer" part of Windows, load it up again
  • Browse to the folder you were just at, and this time DELETE the "FortniteClient-Win64... " file
  • After doing this, click onto the "Epic Games Launcher" on your desktop
  • Select "Fortnite"
  • Next to the green "Launch" button, select the small cog icon
  • From the dropdown, select "Verify"
  • This will perform a scan of your game's files
  • Let the scan finish and perform any fixes
  • Restart your PC and try the game again
3. Change Registry Setting Inside Windows
The Windows registry is a central database responsible for storing everything from your desktop wallpaper to which applications you've used recently.
As you use your system, various elements of this database can become damaged or corrupted - leading to errors such as the one you're experiencing.
To fix this, you can actually go into it and change any settings that have been identified as causing the error:
  • Press "Windows" + "S" keys on your keyboard
  • Type "Rededit", right-click on the first listing which appears and select "Run as Administrator"
  • Browse to the following: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlGraphicsDrivers"
  • Right-click and select "New" > "REG_DWORD"
  • Change its name to "TdrDelay"
  • Change its data to "00000008"
  • Exit the registry editor
  • Restart your PC
  • Try the game again
If the above does not work, it suggests you have a problem with another aspect of the system.
Unfortunately, since the UnrealEngine is embedded within Fortnite, it's not something you can manually uninstall without causing further issues.
If you wanted to try it, you may be best to reinstall the Fortnite game completely, or if you need further support, it would be recommended you talk to someone with specific knowledge/experience with your system.

Like many applications, Steam often ends up with problems when it attempts to update various games you may have on the system.
The issue with Steam is either that your "region" is not set correctly (leading to download issues), or that the files of your game are somehow corrupted beyond the ability of the system to rectify them.
The solution is to ensure that your system is able to download from the server, and then that the downloaded files have the correct integrity.
The message which shows with the error is typically as follows:

An error occurred when downloading [[game name]] (corrupt download)...

The solution can be followed here:
1. Change Your Download Region
The first step is to change the download region.
This basically changes which server your system will be attempting to obtain the update from, thus allowing for faster access to the files.
Whilst this may not seem like a major problem, it can cause what's known as "packet loss" - essentially the corruption of downloadable files:
  • Start the Steam application
  • From the "Steam" menu, select "Settings" > "Downloads"
  • Select a different - but still relatively close - download region
  • Also click on the "Clear download cache" button
  • Click "OK"
  • When Steam suggests you "Restart Steam", click the button
  • Let the system reload
  • Try letting the download run again
This should resolve the issue. If it doesn't it likely means you either have application that's throttling the connection, or your Internet is experiencing issues.
2. Ensure That Steam Is Permitted by Antivirus
The next step is to ensure that Steam is permitted by any security software you may have.
One of the more common causes of the "corrupt download" error is that Steam's Internet access will be intermittently cut by the Antivirus system running on your PC.
To ensure this is not the case, you need to "exclude" the Steam application from any security software you have.
Obviously, there are a huge number of antivirus tools out there; I cannot possibly cover all of them.
I can give you general steps, and then obviously the "default" Windows setup:
  • General Antivirus
  • From the bottom-right area of the Windows taskbar, select the icon representing your antivirus
  • Right-click and select "Settings" or similar (some may have Control Panel)
  • When you load up the app proper, look for "exclusions"
  • Add the following folder: "C:\Program Files\Steam"
  • Restart your system and try running the Steam download again
  • Windows Defender
  • Press on Windows Defender's icon in the bottom-right of the Windows taskbar
  • Select "Virus & threat protection" from the left menu
  • Click on "Virus & threat protection settings"
  • Scroll down to "Exclusions"
  • Add the folder "C:/Program Files/Steam"
3. Repair Local Game Files
Finally, you can use several inbuilt settings to repair Steam's local files.
To do this, you can follow the steps below:
  • Load up Steam
  • Select "Library"
  • Scroll down to the game causing problems
  • Right-click on the game and select "Properties"
  • Select the "Local Files" tab
  • Click on "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"
  • If any problems are identified, Steam will resolve them
  • Try letting the game download again
  • Restart your PC
  • Try playing the game again
This typically resolves any instances of corrupted games within the Steam library (which often contribute to the corrupted downloads error).

As more and more families are separating and becoming estranged so increasingly grandparents are being relied upon to step in and provide financial, emotional and practical support. In some families both parents may be working, either by choice or necessity. Help can be needed in either a hands on way, like with childcare or practical help with chores, or a hands off way, as in financial support.
The older generation, today's' grandparents, are now fitter and more active than ever before and so often will have the time, energy and means to be able to step in and fill the gaps for the family. They are often more settled and so have the time and patience to be able to contribute and help.
An important advantage is that grandparents are able to provide a link with the past. They enable us to appreciate and understand our own history and traditions, where things originate from and why. These memories give us an insight into the emotional world of our family, where certain traits and attitudes came from and so help us to understand our parents as well as certain aspects of ourselves. These behaviours are called inter-generational learning and are not genetic characteristics but are the attitudes and mannerisms that are often noticeable in members of the same family.
In spite of all the help and support that we may well need, certain things have to be considered when bringing grandparents into the mix.
- In most families there are often two sets of grandparents, maternal and paternal. Often after a divorce there can be inequalities as to how the grandparents continue to meet and mix with the new family dynamic. One set may well be excluded, whilst the other set comes to be relied upon more heavily. How does this compare to what went on before and is that fair on the grandparents and the children?
- It is important to allow the people who are providing all this invaluable help to share the good times and not just the bad times, to be included in some of the fun and happy times, not just the chores and tough times.
- Mutual respect is a vital component to a successful relationship. This means that any disagreements occur in private and not in front of the children. Times when help is needed are booked in advance out of respect for each others time and personal commitments. Matters like discipline are agreed in advance - over things like food, bedtime, TV.
- Appreciation is important. Be thankful for the help that is given. It is a big help having laundry, cleaning, time, money provided, as well as the time and reassurance in knowing that the children are being looked after by someone who cares about them. Demonstrate how much it matters and how you value it.
Grandparents can have the luxury of a second chance with their grandchildren. They often value being able to do things how they would have liked to have done them the first time round. And this time they are not as pressurised with career and other factors. They are often not as stressed and do not have the same external distractions and concerns. They can be more paced and calmer about things that might upset or distress a younger, less experienced person.
The truth is, older people and children often get on very well. So, if there is no real grandparent living nearby why not 'adopt' one into the family. Many families have token aunts and uncles. A token grandparent would be a valuable addition also, and provide great benefit to the older person as well as to their new family.

Those of us who watched the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton may have been prompted to reflect for a moment on the special role of grandparents. How they can provide a vital role in the raising and support of children.
In many families grandparents are providing support in a variety of ways. With many households becoming single parent families, grandparents are often called upon to help with finances, childcare and perhaps even provide a home for a time.
Grandparents are often uniquely placed to support the children and also the family dynamic:
- They've seen it all before. After all, they've raised their own children to become parents so they are in a position to reflect back on what they did, the approach they used with their own children, what they wished they had done differently. Hindsight is one of the best teaching tools available. It provides a second chance, an opportunity to do it better this time.
- They can see the bigger picture. Often parents are focussed on doing what they feel is the best for their children. They want them to have the best education, the best manners, the best connections and opportunities. Plus they are often determined to compensate for any deficiencies in their own childhood and not repeat any mistakes that they may feel were made with them. Grandparents however, can often see the picture from both sides and see what is really important in raising a happy, confident child.
- They can provide stability. If parents are busy with their careers, earning money, running a household, grandparents are often able to be the reliable, constant figures who are there regularly, calm and with a ready welcome. They often have the time and patience to enjoy being with the children. Parents can often find that they are stressed and pushed for time. Grandparents are often happy to fill that role. They often have the time to listen, advise and befriend their grandchildren.
- The calm presence of a grandparent can provide reassurance to both their children and their grandchildren. They can provide wisdom, experience and a levelling influence. They often have a more balanced perspective on situations because they are uniquely placed in the family. They are often not directly involved in immediate family matters, but have the authority, experience and the love to both care and arbitrate at the same time.
- A connection to the past is often important to children. They are fascinated with stories of the 'olden days', the days when their grandparents were their age. Photographs, mementoes and anecdotes can be repeated frequently and entertain children for many happy hours. Children love feeling a bond with their past. They enjoy the feeling of belonging and learning about their heritage. Grandparents are in a position to provide that connection.
Grandparents can find that they are more important than ever in families. As many families become more dysfunctional, grandparents are able to provide balance and reassurance. They can provide security, familiarity and a sense of belonging. Families need their grandparents. They are often an important stabilising influence.

When a baby or young child dies the impact this has on grandparents is often overlooked in the midst of concern for the bereaved parents and siblings affected by the tragedy. Whether it be a miscarriage, failed IVF attempt, cot death or unsuccessful adoption, grandparents often feel that they are expected to be strong and supportive of their distressed family, feeling the need to suppress their own grief and loss for the sake of others.
As parents, their primary instinct is to support their child, to do their best to try to make things right, to protect them from harm. And yet, as impending grandparents, they have had time to fantasize and plan for their forthcoming grandchild, to imagine their role in the new child's life. They will have dreamt about the lovely new addition to the family, imagined the joy it will bring to their lives, felt excitement for their son or daughter's new role as parent, perhaps adding to their existing family.
Witnessing their son or daughter's devastation, sometimes hearing the news long distance, is very difficult. It is hard to know what to do, how to help their family, find ways to make it better. Coping and come to terms with the situation as both a parent and a bereaved grandparent takes time.
Let's look at some ways to provide support for grief and the bereaved grandparent:
- Making contact with their son or daughter is an important first step for a bereaved grandparent. Being together as a family, providing comfort, practical help, looking after other's needs, helping them cope is often an important source of comfort, especially when there is a close family relationship.
- Some grandparents may have to cope with their bereavement alone. They may be single, or their children live a distance away and cannot be easily visited. If their son has lost his child they may have the additional stress of feeling obligated to keep some distance as their daughter-in-law's parents rally round to provide support.
- Relying on the closeness of friends, sympathetic colleagues and neighbours, local groups and phone calls to family can be a means of finding immediate support, but it can sometimes be difficult for a grandparent to verbalize their feelings to others. They may feel it inappropriate to demonstrate their devastating sense of loss in these circumstances.
- Sharing with their partner, husband or wife can be a help, as can sharing with someone close who has had a similar experience. Counselling and bereavement groups are a help for some people and can provide support, comfort and understanding.
- Acknowledging the loss of the child is important.Talking about it, admitting that it is an upsetting time, that a young life has been lost, is an important part of healing process. Accepting that time can help to cope better even though the child will never be forgotten gives permission to oneself to grieve.
- For some grandparents time is an additional personal consideration. They may have concerns as to whether or not they are going to ever have grandchildren. How long will it be before their son or daughter has a child; it may well be another year before they feel ready or able to try again. This question cannot be asked outright, even though it may be a burning issue for grandparents. To ask seems cruel, insensitive, may even appear to be an implied criticism at their 'failure' to produce a grandchild.
- Religious faith and spiritual beliefs can sometimes bring comfort, support and acceptance at distressing times. Even though it may be difficult, perhaps even impossible to comprehend the harshness of certain events in life, having faith in a bigger picture, a greater wisdom behind these experiences than is understood at the time can sometimes provide the ability to accept and move forward with a degree of optimism and hope for the future.

The famous Chocolate Hills in Bohol are made up of over a thousand small rolling hills in a 20-square mile area. The hills are covered with grass and, during the winter, the grass turns brown giving the hills a milk chocolate color shaped like Hershey's Kisses. Hence its name, Chocolate Hills. People also visit Bohol to see tarsiers, which are small primates no bigger than a human fist. Because they live in trees and have large, distinctive round eyes, some people may initially mistake them for owls.
6. Mayon Volcano

Typically, ice creams are served outside the convenience of our home. We usually get them from our grocery stores and local markets. This thing is not bad at all. But if you have the right ingredients, then why not make your own in your kitchen?
Trust me, the process of making ice cream is fairly easy. Contrary to popular belief, this sweet and luscious dessert is actually a treat that you can create on a daily basis - not that you have to. However, during special occasions and parties, the presence of a homemade delicacy is a great way to add that 'Wow' factor. It is a good partner for snacks like jerkies, too!
In this article, I will show you how to make a vanilla ice cream. It is among the most favorite ice cream flavors in the world today. Let's get started!
There are three ways you can make an ice cream in your home. Take note that none of these approaches will require you to use an ice cream machine.
First Method
  • Heavy cream (2 cups; chilled)
  • Condensed milk (14 ounces; chilled)
  • Vanilla extract (1/2 teaspoon)
Step 1
Use an electric mixer to whip the heavy cream until becomes mix. After this, adjust the mixer into low speed so that mix the vanilla, condensed milk, and other flavorings that you want to pour.
Step 2
Pour the entire mixture into an airtight and resealable container. You should cover it with a plastic wrap before you seal off the container. After this, put it in your freezer for around six hours or until such time the mixture becomes firm and creamy. As easy as this, you already made a tasty ice cream in your kitchen!
Second Method
  • Whole milk (1 1/4 cup; chilled)
  • Granulated sugar (3/4 cup; chilled)
  • Heavy cream (2 cups; chilled)
  • Vanilla extract (1 tablespoon)
  • Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
Step 1
Use a large bowl and place it under an electric mixer. Next, pour the sugar and milk into the bowl so that mixer can beat the mixture thoroughly. You need to mix it until such time the granulated sugar dissolves. Specifically, it should only take you around two minutes to accomplish this task.
Step 2
After this, you can already pour the vanilla, salt, and ice cream in the mix. Stir them properly by still using your mixer. If all the ingredients were not chilled, you need to place the mixture in the refrigerator for around 10 to 15 minutes. When this is over, your ice cream is already suitable for consumption.
Third Method
  • Whole milk (1 1/4 cup; chilled)
  • Granulated sugar (3/4 cup; chilled)
  • Heavy cream (2 cups; chilled)
  • Vanilla extract (1 tablespoon)
  • Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
Step 1
Pour the entire mixture into a large baking dish. The latter should be deep enough so that it can cater all the ingredients. After this, put the baking dish in your freezer for around 40 minutes.
If the mixture starts to solidify, take it out from the freezer. Next, use a spatula to stir the mixture thoroughly. Place the baking dish back in the freezer after stirring.
Step 2
Continue the aforementioned procedure for the next two hours. The interval should be every 30 minutes. This will ensure that you can stir the mixture properly for their flavors to blend. Alternatively, you could use a blender or a handheld mixer to do this process.
After the last mixing, place back the mixture inside your freezer and let it freeze there for 20 minutes. Your ice cream should be ready after this!
These are the methods that you can apply in making ice cream in your home. Although they are simple, you will be surprised at the kind of flavors that they can yield! You will be happy that you were able to make your favorite dessert without stressing too much!
